Member Comments: Called and talked to a person almost immediately. Scheduled someone to come out 2 days later which is pretty fast (others were over a week wait). Jeff came on time and listened as I explained what I wanted. He created a materials and labor estimate. Estimate was based on flat hourly rate times how many hours he thought it would take. He went out and got the materials and started to work on the wall. Jeff took his time and made sure things were done right. He asked me how things looked from time-to-time to make sure I was happy with how it was going/looking. Super pleased with his work, attention to detail, and overall manners. Sometimes guys just slap things up and move on. I feel he really cared about his work and the final product. Would ask for him again if I need more work done in the future.

Member Comments: We couldn't be more pleased with the service, attention to detail, the professional courtesy provided and all the follow up and follow through provided by the whole My Handy Craftsmen team. The craftsman who worked on our project, Mark is top notch. He went out of his way to ensure the demo went smoothly and did not cause any hindrance to my son who was home sick that day. In fact, he took the demo work out our master bath window rather than taking in through the house so he wouldn't cause my son additional respiratory problems. Something I didn't even think about. Each day Mark informed me what was done and what was going to be done the next day. He showed up on time every time. Worked a full day. No babysitting was required. Mark has done this so many time I could tell that he has mastered the professional process. He took the time to clarify any aesthetic decisions with me to ensure I would be okay happy. I will be calling My Handy Craftsmen with every home improvement project I have in the future. Truly a professionally run business and team!!

They are very flexible if things come up during the remodel process that need to change. Our bathroom turned out exactly how we wanted it to - very quality work by a contractor who had about 25 years experience and took no shortcuts. Couldn't be happier with the results. I highly recommend them.

Member Comments: My second experience with this contractor - the first good experience led me to give them this job without bidding - a little confusion at the start over the window provider but once work got started they are punctual, clean and respectful - the project came out well and how I had hoped it would look - but there was a mix up at the end on the ceiling fans for all things - and I thought management was slightly overbearing on a client; particularly a repeat client - I had to finalize the ceiling fans myself - but overall, their work is good and punctual so that does tend to out weigh some relatively minor lack of client service.

Member Comments: It went great. After my last two experiences of not being able to get anyone out here, I was about to give up on handyman services. The work was done well, very easy to work with and most importantly, I was kept in the loop on when he would be here. I wish I had tried them first, but the Angie's List listing of a Winter Park address threw me. It was not clear until I looked closer that they had services in the Clearwater/Palm Harbor area.? I highly recommend this company for any work you may need and I plan on using them again when we move into our new house in south Pinellas.

Description Of Work:They did some work to fix a fence on a rental house I take care of. They also came over to my house and installed a new kitchen sink. He also did a little bit of painting at the rental house.
Member Comments:This was a $240 big deal purchase. It was fine. He did not finish some painting on the rental house that he said he would do, but he said he would come back if he could. He did not say definitely, he said if he could. He did not come back, but it would have been nice if he could have. He did everything for the rental house and our house on the same day. The big deal was used pretty soon after I got it. He did not have to buy anything. I already had the paint and what he needed for the fence. I also had the sink. He was able to use the materials I had already. I think it would have been preferable for him to say that he would not be able to do all of the projects at the same time because he did not finish painting the fence. I would have preferred him to say that and not have been told that he might come back and then he didn't. I thought it was a fair price. What he did do he did okay. Initially he came on time and did the work that I asked him to do, he just did not come back to do a little bit of that painting. He was professional.

Description Of Work:Our back porch had rotted wood (cedar) posts and ledges. They replaced all of the rotten wood including the posts and replaced the cedar door frame and rehung the door. He caulked around the posts and also stained the cedar with a stain that we chose. All materials were purchased by us for around $500.00.
Member Comments:The carpenter, Paul, was very personable and knowledgeable. I could tell from the beginning that he was confident and could handle the job and had experience doing this sort of repair. We had redone this porch 29 years ago in cedar. This time it was done much better than 29 years ago. The porch is 12 x 24 and had ten 4 x 4 posts with cedar ledges. It looks good. We purchased the materials ourselves. We ordered the cedar from Buck Lumber in Longwood and purchased the stain at Home Depot. I felt that the price for very fair due to the work involved. I would recommend this company and I would hire them again.

Description Of Work:Pressure cleaned the exterior of the house. Painted the garage and chimney. Stained the decorative wood siding and front porch railings. Installed two sliding shower doors. Re-grouted the master shower. Fixed the guest bathroom tub faucet which was sticking.
Member Comments: From start to finish they were professional and friendly. Jeff was up-front about how they operate and the way their pricing works. He listened to what we wanted and was back with me within 24 hours. Paul, the craftsman performing the work, was on-time and worked very quickly, efficiently and was surprisingly clean. We originally called only for pressure cleaning and staining but saw that they do so much more on their website and decided to ask if they could do a few other projects as well. I will admit, I was a little concerned because my laundry list of projects was all over the place, but Paul seemed completely confident he would be able to do everything. He walked through it all with me and I could tell he knew what he was doing. And not only was he able, it looked awesome! It took a few days to complete everything but Paul always let us know what the status was and when he would return. My Handy Craftsman did an awesome job! We are so pleased with everything. The price was fair, the work was done quickly, the quality was great and the versatility was amazing. We would definitely use them again for future projects.

Description Of Work: A few small kitchen jobs; cabinet fixes to the space around our fridge, microwave, island. Fixed the turnstyle spice rack that broke. Airstone project (faux rock/stone detailing) applied to the area under our breakfast bar.
Member Comments: After first contacting Paul's Home Pro Service (due to good reviews and client response), I ended up giving My Handy Craftsman a call. Paul's Home Pro Service was completely unhelpful nor repsonsive to my request. After an initial call explaining our home needs, he didn't provide me much in the way of how they handle business and just asked that I text him photos of the work to be completed. I did so immediately and he didn't give me a call or response that day, nor the next - I tried to follow up with him to see that he received all of my photos (which sent from my end just fine) and I received zero in return. I understand if companies are busy (maybe too busy to even take on the job(s) we needed help with) and that's totally fine...so long as one can communicate such information; just a simple return call or message would have been suffice enough for me to move on w/o feeling the need to write these comments. To have such good reviews and be left with an experience that was completely the opposite was unfortunate and disappointing. With all of that being said, I will absolutely contact My Handy Craftsman in the future for our home project needs. The guys who came out to complete our projects were punctual, professional and friendly and did a great job for us. They even helped us repair a Little Free Library www.littlefreelibrary.org) that we had come in damaged during shipment, at no additional cost. Communication was clear; they were responsive on the phone and a pleasure to do business with.

Description Of Work: Conversion of a tub/shower combination in the master bathroom to a walk-in shower. Prepped the shower for tile.
Member Comments: I called and spoke with Jeff Hale to make the appointment. He is a very pleasant gentleman who was happy to schedule an estimate for the work I wanted done. He was unable to take my details when I called but promised to call me back when he was better able and he did. It was a great start! Michael Hale came to provide an estimate for the job. Also a very pleasant gentleman. I was provided an estimate in a timely manner and given time to review and consider the options presented. I let them know that I was going to wait until just after the new year to do the work and that I would follow up at that time. Jeff called the first week of January and we got it booked. Thank you for the follow up! Bob came out to do the work. Very likeable and easy going gentleman. He was punctual and got right to work each day of the job. He ran into a problem that required a little extra time, work and equipment but was up front about how long it would take to cure and how much it would cost in labor. We ran a little over on the number of days the job was scheduled to take because of the issue but I was happy to have the work done the right way by a professional. The shower looks great and is ready for tiling. I am pleased with the work and will certainly call them again for some other projects I have planned around the house. I have already recommended My Handy Craftsman Inc. to friends who need various projects completed in their homes. Thank you!

Description Of Work: Greg put the final touches on a remodeling project that has been going on for about 6 months. He installed base boards in the living room, dining room and master bedroom along with multiple door trims and even a piece of crown molding under the bar top. He even made some custom transitions in a couple of difficult areas and also patched up some work on the wood flooring that a previous contractor had done a less than perfect job on. Member Comments: Everything turned out better than I had hoped. The wood floor looks better than it did when he started and the transitions came out perfectly. All the cuts were clean and the boards are practically seamless. Greg was very friendly and professional. Even though I hovered a little bit (just trying to learn a few things) he didn't seem to mind and answered any questions I had.

Description Of Work: I was treated courteously and respectfully. Even though I only had a small job that needed to be done, installing a storm door, I was treated as if I was spending thousands of dollars. The craftsman had some difficulty arriving for the scheduled appointment due to a vehicle break down, but he rescheduled at my convenience and arrived on time. Description Of Work:Replace ceiling fan, replace window A/C unit, remove A/C unit from wall and repair.
Member Comments: My house is 60 years old, concrete block, and stucco. John replaced the ceiling fan with ease and it looks and works great! The old window A/C unit was another story. John worked on it for a while, removing layers of caulk and finally got the old unit out. The new unit is quiet and works well. The third piece of the job was to remove a window A/C unit that had been installed in the cinderblock wall. John replaced the concrete blocks, added drywall and finished the inside and outside very well. The inside blends perfectly and you can't tell there was an A/C unit there. The outside needs to be painted, but will blend well.

The work could not all be completed because on removal of one section termite damage was found and I needed to get Massey in to inspect since the house is bonded against termite damage. I was pleased with the work that was done by My Handy Craftman. I do have one recommendation for the company. Their workers should remove the debrie totally from the premises and not discard of it in the homeowner's receptacle. This homeowner got stuck by one of the rusty nails and needed to go to the urgent care for a tetanus shot.

Description Of Work: Completely removed/rebuilt master bath shower - tiled and drywall around shower; replaced bath fixtures - faucets, lighting, towel racks; painted entire home and trim and baseboards; painted garage - removed all shelving, fixed spot on ceiling.
Member Comments: Called and scheduled a time for Jeff to come and take a look at job needed to provide an estimate - Jeff arrived on time, was courteous, I received a detailed estimate next day and work started following Monday which was perfect for my schedule. Everything was handled with utmost care and attention to detail - large job to spruce up an aged condo and there were many little things that Mark - my Handyman Craftsman - saw and went ahead and took care of for me that I would not have noticed or thought about. He did an excellent job on the new shower - tore old shower out and down to studs - replaced any areas that appeared to be moldy and rebuilt shower from bottom to top - retiled, new fixtures, hung new shower door. Had all the rooms repainted as well as door trim and baseboards - some areas took more than one coat to cover up spots - in particular the garage walls. Really made a difference overall appearance of the condo. Worth every penny - very reasonably priced for the job - very professional and accommodating people who really cared about the finished work. Would definitely use MyHandyCraftsman Inc again.

Description Of Work: My Handy Craftsman performed updates to two of our bathrooms. Both required updated faucets, showers, and lighting. One bathroom needed painting. I requested that both have a re caulking around the tub, which turned out to be a little bit of re-grouting around the lower portion of the tub due to age too.
Member Comments: After doing research on "Do it yourself" projects and updating two small bathrooms, I decided for the sake of time and my lack of tools, I would hire a handyman. I solicited estimates from several companies. My Handy Craftsman took the time to send someone out to see the jobs; whereas, other companies only sent me e-mail estimates according to what I had typed(I sort of took that too mean the "job" wasn't worth their time). Chris compared what I had described in my estimates to the work that actually had to be done. Chris saw what needed to be done with real time expectations and when I pointed out a few of my "concerns" he spoke of how they could be addressed within the updates with very little extra effort. We decided to divide the work into two Friday's given my time. It also allowed for only one bathroom to be 'out of order' at a time. I appreciated their consideration of this. Chris worked diligently and continually for the two days. He took the time to explain a few of the features of the new fixtures(ie: how the handle tightens, which was different than my prior faucet"). The finished products are awesome!! Our bathrooms more updated with the fresh paint, new fixtures, and my new decorations. I'm very pleased with the work that My Handy Craftsman completed.

Description Of Work: Complete renovation of a bathroom.
Member Comments: In July we noticed a leak around our toilet. A plumber was called to repair the leak but also informed us that we had some water damaged drywall and suggested we get the drywall repaired. He felt that the water damage could possibly be behind the bathtub and baseboard. We went to ANGIE'S LIST to locate a handyman who could fix whatever would arise rather that contacting several contractors to come in to fix any damage unveiled. After researching and reading reviews, Michael Hale of MY HANDYCRAFTMAN business was highly recommended by Angies's users. We gave him a call. Our bathroom is beautiful. A complete renovation was the only recommended solution. Damage was pointed out that we were not aware of. Tile, vanity, toilet, lighting, and shower fixtures were replaced. A couple of minor leaks were repaired also. Mark took care of the labor. He was very experienced in all aspects of the construction job and kept us informed in each new phases as it happened. He listened to our ideas and made it happen. He was a pleasure to work with. His work ethic was amazing. He came to work early and put in a hard days work. Michael Hale stopped by periodically to check the job and make sure we were satisfied. We have several other projects in the near future that we are planning and MY HANDYCRAFTMAN and Michael Hale will be our contractors. The complete job was eight days and the entire price was very very reasonable.

Description Of Work: I had the handyman install 2 pendant lights, 1 chandelier, one box light and 3 ceiling fans.
Member Comments: My original appointment was missed because the original installer didn't have my correct phone number so didn't show up but once we got in touch we rescheduled and then he got injured on another job so i rescheduled with a different handyman. Once we got all that corrected, the work was flawless and I was very happy with the service. All the work was done exceptionally and the handyman was a great person all around. I will certainly use them again when I have more projects to tackle.

Member Comments: He was prompt everyday, starting at around 9 am. It took him from Monday to Thursday morning to finish. He was very nice and professional and addressed all our questions. He cleaned up his area everyday as he finished. My dad is a construction guy and he was also impressed with how well prepared he came. My only wish is that it was a little expensive even with our discount but they were so prompt to come out right away ready to work if we agreed with the quote.

Description Of Work: Removed 4 porch posts (4x4), installed 4 porch posts (6x6), and designed and installed capitals at tops and bottoms.
Member Comments: Home owner (me) purchased the new 6x6 posts, base plates, and top flanges. I looked carefully at the job and my basic skills and decided that a professional carpenter would be the smart thing to have perform the job. I looked on Angie's List and found My Handy Craftsman listed as an A company with 295 reviews. I called and spoke to Jeff and he set up a date and time for his carpenter to do the work. Bob showed up on time and proceeded to perform the work of demolition and installation. Then, at the end of the day, my wife decided she wanted capitals on the tops and something on the bottoms. She provided a picture out of a magazine that represented what she desired. Bob took the picture and said he would design something similar that would fit our porch and look right, and that he would get with Jeff and set up another date for that work. Bob was going to purchase the needed materials and bring them with him. A date was set for one week after the initial service. Bob arrived on time with a design and the materials. He did one post, and I called my wife out for inspection. And she did not like it - it was too small. Bob did not get upset, but proceeded to query her as to exactly how to modify the design. That required a trip to Home Depot for additional material, but Bob came back in short order with the stuff and proceeded to tear out the first attempt and install the second design. Again, the wife inspected and approved! So Bob got on with it and finished by the end of the day. I expected to be upcharged for the modification, but the original agreed upon labor charge was all that was billed. Of course, I had to pay for all the material that was used (and some was pure waste due to the design change). I am doing the painting of the new posts, so Bob did not do any of that. All in all, we are very pleased with the new look of our porch. I can recommend My Handy Craftsman for all your carpentry needs.

After reading several reviews of the company on Angie's List, I called Jeff to schedule installation of plywood flooring in a portion of my attic. I met with the carpenter today. He looked at the job to be done then left to purchase three sheets of plywood. Upon returning, he got right to work, cut the plywood to size and screwed the plywood sheets in place. concrete wall patched. replaced some rotted T1-11 siding panels with Hardie Board and painted Member Comments:
Val arrived exactly on time. after going over the projects, he got right to work. I really appreciated not having to schedule another day for the work to start after agreeing on the costs etc. He patched old exhaust vent holes in the concrete wall and deteriorated cinder block in the pool pump room. The biggest project was to replace some wood siding on the second story. We have a mansard roof with inset windows and the T1-11 siding below the windows had become rotted. Val replaced it all with Hardie Board cement board and painted it as well. I looks great and he handled a few unexpected situations very well. Val is a great guy. easy going and does great work. I was also impressed that Jeff the owner called to follow up on how the project went. I will use them again, no question about it.Overall A

Member Comments:
Great service. Arrived on time, all of the work was performed perfectly, and I think it was an excellent value for the money. I believe the handyman who visited us was named Val -- in addition to performing great work, he was very polite and professional. I'd recommend asking for him if possible. We initially tried installing the light kits for one of the ceiling fans ourselves, but had problems due to the fact that the previous owners' had wired them incorrectly. Val fixed this for us. We also had previously attempted to remove the TV frame ourselves and couldn't do so -- neither by hand nor with a drill. Val was able to get this done, no problem. The company was a little hard to get a hold of. I filled out the "contact us" form on their web site and left a voicemail, but it was several days before they called back. However, once I did hear back from them, they were very punctual and easy to work with. I'd happily use this company for handyman services again.Overall A

This company was very responsive after the initial call. Bob B promptly came to the house and gave us a time and cost estimate. He told us that he would need to complete his current job, but expected to be able to begin our work the following week. It was an additional week before that job was completed, but Bob called to keep us in the loop. Once the work began, things rocked along smoothly. Our job took a little longer than the estimate, but the quality of the work was really excellent. We are VERY happy with the results. Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

Repaired the caulking in a walk-in shower and some sinks. Member Comments:
I have used My Handy Craftsman in the past and always was satisfied with their work. They are honest, reasonably priced and always seem to go above and beyond. This time as I was preparing my house to go on the market I realized that my shower needed a re-caulking. Chris was prompt, took a look at the job and gave me a good estimate. He worked quickly and even looked at the rest of the bathroom and recommended a couple of other caulking issues that he repaired at the same time. It looked great, he cleaned up and I was very pleased. Past jobs for me have been wood replacement, painting, drywall repair. I like that one person will come out for an appointment and be able to take care of many small things at one time - saves me time and aggravation. Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

I was re-facing my fireplace and needed some carpentry work done prior to tile being installed. Bob made the mantle thicker to accommodate the width of the tile and removed two corbels. He than had to texture the wall and ceiling where the corbels were removed. He also had to do some drywall repair. He was very professional and worked the entire time he was in my home. Even though the job entailed a number of small jobs his time estimate was right on. I was very pleased with the final product as was the individual who was installing the tile. The general contractors at My Handy Craftsman updated my kitchen by painting the cabinets, installing the microwave over the stove, raising the cabinets, installing back splash and, installing a new disposal, sink and faucet. They also set up new cabinets and counter tops were put on by another company. They worked quickly so quickly that the counter top people were there just 2 days after the beginning of the job and the remainder of the job was completed within 3 days. Wow FAST!! When the family came over for the family reunion I received rave reviews! When we sell the house in the future the updated kitchen should help it to sell. Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

fabricated and replaced a custom curved wood piece of a home attic vent along with replacing several broken slats. Member Comments:
The project went well. The attic vent was a custom original build from when the home was constructed and there was no easy way to replace the broken/rotted pieces of wood. The handy man was able to figure out how to custom cut the curved pieces to fit and repair the vent. He also offered to paint it but I did not have the paint available and needed to find a specific color match for the HOA. I was pleased with the surface and the price. I hire a fair amount of labor for various projects on my income properties and found My Handy Craftsman to be reasonable. I would call on them again. The only suggestion I would have for improvement was for the guy that came out to actually use more expensive materials. The vent will likely become water damaged again over time due to it's location and Florida weather. Cedar might have been a better wood choice. This is a minor thing and I blame myself for not thinking of it before hand. The craftsman made a solid effort to stay on budget. Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

Description Of Work: Repaired a hole in the patio ceiling caused by a water leak
Member Comments:
This is an update to my review. After the patch completely dried it pretty much matched the rest of the ceiling, so I am regrading the quality to "A" from "B" and deleting my comments on the painting. Making the appointment was easy. Jeff answered the phone and I was scheduled within a couple of minutes. The handyman (Brandon) called ahead to say he'd be there about 10 minutes after the scheduled time. Calling ahead is important and he wasn't very late, so that was fine. The hole was limited to the center area of an approximately 18" x 18" area of the drywall. He did a good job. I'm not very familiar with the time it takes to do these jobs, but it seemed like he took a really long time. It was about three hours to patch that little area. I politely asked him to hurry towards the end because I had to get my car out of the shop and I was waiting for him to finish. I only told him this after I realized how long it was taking. Since I'm not familiar with the time it typically takes and since having it done right is more important than having it done quickly I did not give a lower grade for the time it took. Brandon was a nice guy and I don't know that he did anything wrong, just not as fast as I expected. He cleaned up before he left. So I'm overall satisfied with the service and the price was reasonable, but maybe my expectations were too high for how quickly it could be done. Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

They were fabulous! Chris was punctual and gave an estimate of cost prior to working. We had many of the items/parts, but not all... Chris did tell us up front that he doesn't keep parts stocked on his truck and would leave to pick up whatever he needed but would charge us his cost for the parts and also that he is not billing for time away. The extra parts cost came to around $10. The work went exceedingly well. We had saved up a laundry list of odd jobs that he easily crushed. He was pleasant and professional. We are super happy with the quality of the work done and would happily use this company again. We did have to show the Angies print out and did receive a discount. All around an A+ experience! This is our first time using this service provider. When I called initially, I spoke with Jeff who was very friendly and set up the appointment. Ken was the provider who came to work on the house. He was very friendly and professional. He called me to let me know he could be at our house early, which I appreciated. When Ken arrived, he assessed the work, provided a quote that we agreed on, and got to work. He brought a few other concerns to my attention and offered solutions or alternative ideas. He ended up working faster than expected and so the final price ended up being less than estimated. I was very pleased with all aspects, from the work completed to the level of customer service. Knocked out a poorly installed pre-fab shower + the original moldy 1950's shower underneath that, and rebuilt a solid new shower in its place. Member Comments:
The owner Michael came out and gave us an estimate in May 2013, and although it wasn't the lowest price, we liked the detailed analysis he gave us, plus his timeliness and positive - but not pushy - attitude. He seemed to understand the quirkiness of our bathroom, which was remodeled and expanded years ago before we bought the house. He listened well, and explained that I would be purchasing all the tile and fixtures separately, because they were a matter of aesthetic choice. On the agreed-upon start date, the contractor Chris arrived right on time, and promptly laid a protective paper sheeting across the entire wooden floor that led from the front door to the bathroom. I was amazed with what he was able to demolish on just the first day. Each day thereafter, he worked on the home while both my husband and I were at work for at least part of the day. Whenever I arrived home as he was finishing up, he would explain what he had accomplished that day, and what setbacks he'd encountered along with the successes. For instance, the square tiles I had bought were a maddening 1/8" smaller than the square tiles already in the bathroom, so he had to compensate by adding a tiny bit more space in between each one so they would appear to be lined up. Chris did a great job despite several tricky problems like this one he had to solve. Chris was done within in one week, gave us the final bill (adjusted down to compensate for material not used!) and gave us a recommendation for a glass contractor to install the shower walls & door. The shower has held up well and looks great, six months after completion. The one problem we've been plagued with is an issue with the quality of grout used on the shower floor. However, when I first noticed the grout beginning to come loose, Chris came out right away and replaced the loose grout. He later learned there is a defect in the manufacturing of this grout, and he will be coming out to replace all of the grout and tile on the shower floor...at no charge to us. We have already scheduled Chris to come out to do other work, and we will definitely be hiring My Handy Craftsman for most of our future home improvement jobs! Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

Description Of Work: Painted the Fascia around the exterior of the home
Replace an old ceiling fan Replace an old toilet Member Comments:
The handyman was very professional when I met him. He phoned ahead and arrived on time, and was very quick to provide an estimate on the cost of the tasks as well as how long it would take for him to do. He estimated that it would take him roughly 4 hours to paint the fascia, and then 2 more to replace the ceiling fan and the toilet. He started with the fascia shortly after he arrived, and finished around noon, and then came in to replace the toilet. Though, it turned out that the handyman lacked a tool to help remove the old toilet. He explained that the mounting plate was broken and that something was wrong with the supply line so that he couldn't shut off the water and advised that we call a plumber to take care of it. Fortunately, he removed an hour's worth of pay from the estimated cost. He removed our old ceiling fan and explained to us why the light worked but the blades would not rotate, and then installed the new one, which works perfectly. He finished all the tasks in about 4 hours, which was less than he charged us for, but he worked quickly, so I didn't mind. My Handy Craftsman was very professional, prompt and answered any questions I had. I would hire them again. Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

I had purchased 2 hours of service in an Angie's list "Big Deal". The handyman was efficient, professional and skilled in many areas. He installed a sink and faucet, put up some blinds and several other minor things. I plan on using this company in the future for any handyman services I need. Share on Band of Neighbors:

He was hired to paint the front porch ceiling and remove mud dauber nests. He painted the ceiling and removed some of the mud daubber nests. He later came back and removed the rest. Member Comments:
Ken Alberts called the night before to make sure that he knew what was needed. He showed up promptly on time this morning. He had been asked to remove all the mud dauber nests and to paint the front porch ceiling. I had been told that he would give an estimate, then I could decide whether to have him do the job and if I elected to have him do the job, he would do it on the spot. I had also been told that he would estimate the job based on a labor rate of $50 per hour and that the estimate would be the charge whether it took more time or less time. He estimated $200, based on four hours. He finished the job in exactly two hours. I feel that he could have estimated a little more accurately. Also, he came without the proper equipment to do the job. He came with brushes to apply latex paint, but the paint to be used, which we had purchased at his request, was oil based paint. He asked me to give him brushes. I gave him two good brushes one of which he used, then discarded. He did not reimburse me for the brush. He also only removed the mud dauber nests on the surface he painted, but did not remove those on the surrounding surfaces. He did ask me to see what I thought of his work. I checked the painting and said that it was a good job. I did not think of checking for the removal of the mud dauber nests, but just assumed that he had done it. When my wife and I looked at it after he left, we discovered that he had not removed the nests. He did come back after my complaint and removed the rest of the mud daubber nests. He had misunderstood what we wanted. I would use this workman again and would recommend him. Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

.Everything went very well. Robert was prompt, polite and efficient. He explained everything to our satisfaction. It turned out to be a much bigger job than he had anticipated because of corrosion on the water pipes. He told us up front that he might damage the pipe by grinding it off. Fortunately that didn't happen. The motion sensor lights still do not work properly but I am confident that My Handy Craftsman will resolve it or direct us to someone who can. Replace kitchen sink Member Comments:
This was our second attempt at installation for a kitchen sink. . We had purchased this sink from one of the big box home improvement centers along with the installation. When their installer arrived he stated that he was unable to perform the installation as the new sink was slightly larger than the old. This was known at the time of ordering. The big box store was unable to get someone out to do the installation. We decided to try again with My Handyman. When Kevin arrived (on time) he immediately got to work after approval of the price quote. It turned out to be a problematic installation as the sink basins did not align with the old plumbing. This was for a three basin sink. Kevin stuck with it and was able to complete the installation to my satisfaction. He ran over the quoted time and stood by the original quote. There was something of a mess during the installation as he had to trim the Corian countertop, but when he left the kitchen was clean. I will definitely be calling again for some additional projects. Mark the handyman called first and then arrived on time as planned. He went right to work estimating the project and making recommendations on the best solution. Then after a quick trip to the store for needed supplies. He went straight to work on the project. Mark is one the of most hard working individuals that I have meet. He worked all day on the project, completed it and cleaned up late in the day. One of the best professional jobs with an eye on details that I have witnessed in a long time. From the very beginning we were impressed with the professionalism of Micheal from My Handy Craftsman. When Robert started the job we knew right away we had made the right choice. He was knowledgable and accessable. He was ready with suggestions and not afraid to let us know that we may be on the wrong track with any of the details, such as colors or knobs. It was clear as work progressed that he was taking a personal interest in the job. He truly seemed to love what he was doing. He even went on his own time to IKEA to help us pick out the cabinets We would definately use him again and would not hesitate to recommend him to others. Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

Called Handy Craftsman as I had a couple of small jobs that needed to be taken care of and their Angie's listing indicated they did a wide variety of home repairs. First person who came indicated that he wasn't the right person for the combo of jobs. Second guy came and took care of it all over one afternoon and the next morning. What a relief to have one source/call for both my front storm door and the bedroom wall -- and then the dining room ceiling got painted/fixed too! Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

Originally I contacted them in July of 2013 via the angies list message center. I got a never got a reply to the message and really wasn't bothered by it, I just went search for other handymen.I got a voicemail from Jeff in Sept asking if i still needed a handyman. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. Mark was my handyman for the day and he was fantastic, very professional. We spoke on the phone the previously and I explained to him about my extremely busy schedule for the week. He was willing to reschedule and come at a later time. He explained what he could do (pluming, tile, etc etc) and he pretty much went to work on what I wanted, which was a small amount. He later showed me pictures of the tile work he completed previously. I told him I wanted to redo my master bathroom and he gave me a couple of ideas. Long story short, I couldn't have asked for better service. I will be contacting them again in the future! Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

Built a railing with a functional gate and latch making it easier for furniture or appliances to be moved in and out of the home instead of always having to make a sharp right turn. The rail surrounds our porch. He replaced three support columns that was able to lift the roof and make it even where sags existed before along with adornments around the columns making them standout thus beautifying the home. He also repaired rotting wood on our eaves and fascia. Painted all repairs to specified colors. Member Comments:
Mark was on time (which can be a rarity these days). At first I wasn't sure exactly what could or couldn't be done to update the look and to fix the front of the home. It is a 60 yr. old home, but with Mark's creative thinking and sharp eye we were able to mesh my needs with his creativity and come up with something that turned out wonderful. Mark was up front, honest and hard working. It was especially hot the days he worked for us and he worked through the whole time without complaint. Replaced the exterior garage entry door. Member Comments:
Note: I did not include materials in the cost quoted above since that could vary. Our garage exterior entry door was completed rotted out along the bottom edge and sides. Due to the odd size of the door, we had previously purchased a custom fiberglass pre-hung door and hardware as its replacement but never got around to doing the installation ourselves. Mark called about a 1/2 hour before the scheduled appointment to confirm the work and directions to our home. He arrived on time and immediately prepared the estimate (5 hours of work plus $100 in materials). The rip out went without surprises. Prior to departing for supplies, Mark explained what was needed and why. He returned with the supplies, which ran $151; we used PVC products since the door is fairly exposed with only a minor overhang, which I gather is more expensive than wood. The job took more like 6 hours as it took a bit to get the door plumb in our early 70s home, but the original quote was honored. We are very pleased with the quality of the work and will definitely consider My Handy Craftsman the next time we decide we don't want to do a job ourselves. On a side note, I feel like Mark was deserving of a little bit of combat pay. The night before, evidently a turtle had gotten hit by a car and crawled into our yard to die. We had noticed the odor but hadn't yet located the source. Mark buried the turtle for us. Thanks! Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

My initial contact with My Handy Craftsman was via Angie's List chat and a subsequent phone call with Jeff. He responded promptly to my request for a quote, explained their pricing plan and labor rates and was able to give me a general quote. It was a nice surprise to know that they charge only cost for the materials. Jeff was easy to work with and I was pleased with the well managed process. Mark was our craftsman and he arrived on time and gave us a courtesy call to let us know he was on the way. I had to take a day off for this visit so I appreciated that he met our commitment time. He was a pleasant young man who was very respectful of our property. He cleaned up after the jobs were completed and left the house in great condition. We were left with a beautiful new stainless steel sink and a comfort height toilet, as well as safety bars in each bathroom in about four hours of work. Marc was great, he did excellent work and was extremely professional and personable in his demeanor. Everything looks great and he goes the extra mile to make sure all work is completely properly. The price is a little steep compared to what some of the other people we received quotes from. On the other hand, many of those other people never showed up to actually do the work AND Marc did much better work than the people we hired to do some other tasks at a lower price. In fact, Marc had to fix some mistakes made by the guy who installed our sliding glass door. So in the long run, you get what you pay for and it was mostly worth the extra cost to get everything completed in a timely manner along with the peace of mind that the work was done right. He presented himself professionally and courteously and I felt completely comfortable with having him in the house with me and my grandchildren. He even offered to patch a couple other little holes in my drywall, which I took him up on, and he did an equally excellent job on these holes as he had done with the ceiling. Description Of Work:
Replaced 30 ft of wood soffit, installed a lattice fence around A/C unit, installed a grab bar in the bathroom. Member Comments:
This was a very successful service appointment. I was satisfied with all aspects of the job. I called the My Handy Craftsman office number, reached a real person and was set up with an appointment for a few days in the future which was at my earliest convenience. The real person, Jeff Hale, took all the details of my job and set the appointment for 8 AM. I got a call from Kevin at 7 AM on the day of the appointment confirming that he was coming and to let me know how he planned to proceed with my job. Kevin was prompt and got started evaluating what work and materials were required. He approved of the plywood and paint that I already had and left for the store to get the rest of the materials. He demolished the existing rotted soffit, cut and installed the new plywood, primed and painted it. In between the painting he cut and installed the lattice fence and the bathroom grab bar. The lattice fence was add-on work that I requested when Kevin was first evaluating the job and making his material list. He had no problem adding it. The grab bar required some creativity because the studs on that wall were too far apart. Kevin worked continuously all day in very hot weather and through a severe storm. He cleaned up all the work areas and removed all debris. In the end, all the work was just what I wanted, Kevin was personable and professional and I felt that the price was well worth it. I will definitely use this company again. Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

These folks were very responsive. Michael came out promptly and understood just what we wanted. He gave us a reasonable estimate before he left. Chris came out and did the work very expertly, efficiently and professionally. He also cleaned up completely each of the two days the job took. We are all very happy now that we have showers that are so much more old person friendly. We highly recommend these folks. Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

Description Of Work:
I needed the wallboard repaired surrounding a window pane in order to have blinds installed. Jose very expertly placed a wood support behind the wall and secured the new wallboard patch to it. He then added wallboard plaster and sprayed orange peel texture to it. In addition, he repaired and re-textured a few other minor damaged wall areas. He then installed the 6'x6' blinds and re-hung the curtains. Member Comments:
I was so impressed with the work and demeanor of Jose! He was very skilled and remedied the problem expertly. He carefully placed a tarp underneath the window so that my carpet and persian rug were well-protected. The job was reasonably priced. He would even have painted the textured areas if I had paint available. I would highly recommend, "My Handy Craftsman" (and especially Jose!) services and would use them again in the future! Installed 2 ceiling fans, hung 2 sets of drapes, hung 1 picture, caulked t-molding around wood floors. Member Comments:
Chris was the craftsman assigned to the job, and he professional, thorough & honest. After assessing the work, he thought it would take 3-4 hours. What's great about this company is that they won't charge you more than what they originally quote, even if the job ends up running longer than planned. Chris was here almost 5 hours, and only charged me for the 4 quoted. Even after he had packed up his equipment, he decided he wanted to add further reinforcement to one of the drapery rods for good measure. He takes real integrity in his work. I had planned for him to caulk & paint the t-molding, but he said you really should allow the caulking to dry overnight before painting to avoid cracks. I appreciated his honesty, and just had him do the caulking. He finished in a half day what would probably have taken us all weekend. I will definitely use this service again. I was OK with the price, because they were offering a coupon on Angie's List. But then I forgot to use it! My fault. Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

Excellent. The technician was Jose Lopez. He was knowledgeable, professional, courteous and pleasant. To save money, he had me find the replacement door while he did the wall and ceiling repair. I got the door at a salvage yard and the hinge grooves were cut the wrong way. Jose tailored the door for hinges going in the opposite direction with no noticeable difference. All of this was done within the time-frame allotted for the job. He finished on-time. He didn't take a break, even when we asked him to. I would definitely use these guys again. Ken came to the house and when he heard the noise the garbage disposal was making, he told me that it was definitely something stuck in there. He pulled it out in about 10 minutes. (blush! We had felt around and didn't think that's what it was.) Since the minimum charge is for 2 hours, he ended up replacing a trim strip that we had the materials for in the garage. Description Of Work:
Complete Kitchen Remodel Member Comments:
From the start, Michael Hale of My Handy Craftsman was very transparent. One of the main reasons we decided to go with his proposal & build-out compared to other contractors, was his upfrontness when it came to project costs. So many of the other proposals we received were so vague as to where certain costs lie. Because we were new to this magnitude of a remodel, we were weary of where all money was going. Michael did a great job of explaining to us, "here is what our labor cost is & here is your material cost." We knew exactly what were spending where because we were the ones paying for all the materials..ie...kitchen cabinets, sink, faucet, hardware, lighting, etc. Other contractors were not as transparent as My Handy Craftsman. Knowing that our money was being maximized gave us piece of mind. Upon agreeance of the work, Michael & his crew were nothing short of fantastic. His communication and level of responsiveness were always at a premium. His master craftsman on the project, Chris, was by amazingly knowledgeable and thoughtful when it came to our questions. Aside from his jack-of-all-trades expertise, Chris would go out of his way to explain to us why he was doing something "this way" as opposed to "that way." His helpful tips on plumbing, electric, and painting, will be more than useful going forward when it comes to DIY projects we take on. We must say that our overall experience from proposal, to build out, to completion was lights out! Our kitchen was transformed into the 21st century right before our eyes. The guys at My Handy Craftsman are a honest, thoughtful, and experienced bunch that should be called on for projects both large and small. We are certainly glad we called upon them for our kitchen renovation! Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

This is the second time we have contracted with Jeff Hale and My Handy Craftsman and we are well and truly pleased. Chris arrived on time and was fully prepared to go to work on our new entry door. After he did some initial measuring, we discovered that some alteration of the entry- way and existing tilework would need to be done in order to properly fit the new door. Chris had the skills and know- how to make these alterations, and the job went smoothly. Chris was pleasant, extremely competent, professional and left his work area clean and neat upon completion of the job. Fees for labor and materials were fair and reasonable. This was an estimate for laundry and bathroom remodel. Member Comments:
Although I didn't end up using them because a provider I am well acquainted with had a cancellation and could get me in quickly, I was thoroughly impressed with this organization. Jeff quoted me their very straightforward rates on the phone but the scope of the remodel (bathroom and adjacent laundry room) was one we decided would be best to quote as a project. Mike called to confirm the day of the estimate visit and arrived right on time. He was extremely professional and thorough in his evaluation. This is not the kind of person you'd typically associate with 'handymen'. Courteous, educated, thoughtful, and precise. He offered important considerations in the project, and pointed out small details we hadn't thought of. I applaud Jeff and Mike and believe this company has come up with one of the fairest and most unambiguous ways of providing these types of services both for them and for homeowners. I will definitely call on them for my next project of any size. Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

Handymen Insulation Siding Services Performed: Yes

Description Of Work:
Siding replacement. Insulation in outer garage wall. Putting felt on outer garage wall. Installed 16 sheets of hardiboard siding along with 120 feet of trim. Caulked all areas of installed siding along with installing flashing. 1/2 of the siding went on a second story of the home.
Member Comments:
I checked Angie's list for siding installers. The first I called was busy for three weeks. I then called My Handy Craftsman and they had a worker at the house at 7:30 the next morning to give an estimate. They like to start immediately if the estimate is approved. They only charge $60 per hour which is generally less than other carpenters. I accepted immediately. I went with them to the hardware store and I purchased all materials. The estimate was right on without having to go buy more hardboards. They transported back to the work site. I was told that if they finished in less time, the amount would be deducted. If it took longer, they would absorb the cost. One worker worked for three days, even during the rain. He kept at it steady and only took one break for lunch each day. There were a lot of measurements and cutting because of the way the house was built. I think it took longer than the estimated time because of a few problems they ran in to but I was charged only the estimate price at the end. He seemed to know what he was doing and took time to be precise with the cuts. When it was all finished, he caulked all seams and wiped down the board. When he left, the yard was a clean as it was when he first arrived. He was pleasant, professional, and friendly. I approve of the work they did. I don't like to hire work done but this was too much for me and I would recommend this company to anyone Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes Company response: We appreciate the business and your kind words. Gutter Repair & Replacement Handymen Water & Smoke Damage Services Performed: Yes
Work Completed Date: March 28, 2013
Hire Again: Yes
Approximate Cost: $228.00
Description Of Work:
Second time using this company - and work involved replacing a porch support beam that had wood rot at the base (primary job), minor repair to a gutter the lined the house and pool enclosure, and repair to a utility door off the garage that showed some signs of water damage at its base (second most important job). A door handle that is loose on one our patio french door was looked at but could not be tightened. Owner requested that I photos of the area requiring work and send them to him, which was done. Member Comments:
Worker showed up on time, and after visually seeing the areas to be worked on, left for Home Depot to purchase the items needed (new weather-treated post for the porch and a kick plate for garage utility door. Was not charged for the time it took for the worker to go to Home Depot and back, and only paid for the cost of materials with a small discount (10% I believe). The replacement of the porch support post went very smoothly. I had a concrete drill bit that actually worked better on the metal foot base for the new support post and was happy to loan it to the Worker to use (the drill bits he had were either too large or too small). The new kick plate was added to the utility door off the garage, but I really thought that the door would have been taken off its hinges in order to check the bottom, underneath portion of the door for water damage and perhaps some repair performed - but door was not taken off its hinges for any examination. The new metal kick plate will prevent water striking the door and running down it, but any water pooling on the concrete hear the base of the soor could still be absorbed from the bottom, and no inspection or work was done in this area. Again, thought that it would have merited taking a look. Guess time will tell if this approach was the correct and only one. Minor work to the gutter required allegedly some caulking of gaps and adjustment to water flow openings. The only thing that could not be done was the tightening of the loose door handle on one of our french patio doors, but in the end, we may end up changing out french patio door handles anyway to a bruch nickle look rather than brass-like so the fact that other 3 areas were looked at were more important for this current visit. All work was done just under 3 hours, so time and cost of materials ended up being a reasonable charge in our opinion. Share on Band of Neighbors: Yes

Description Of Work:
Following installation of new double-pane windows house-wide, had a need for re-installation of 2 window blinds and a third window needed a new blind cut to size. During the window installation, a built-in kitchen soap dispenser in a granite counter top was damaged and so a new counter soap dispenser was installed as well. Work in all three areas was done effectively and total time took just under 2 hours to complete. Using the coupon that this company makes available through Angie's List allowed for 10% to be taken off the cost of the job - a savings of $12.00 Member Comments:
Handyman arrives on time, and after showing him the 3 areas to be worked, proceeded to get his tools and supplies. I loaned him a new drill bit I had for concrete work, and he had new tapcons for anchoring the window blinds supports in concrete block as mine were a little worn and he preferred to use fresh tapcons. I assisted slightly in cutting the thrid blind for one of the eindows that was an off size, but he had the tools to make the cut smoothly and efficiently. Didn't mind making a few items available as he had the skill to make it all come off well. Did perform some clean-up after him in each of the areas that he worked, and I would have thought that this might have been a bit more of his responsibility, but that is OK, it all went into the same trash can in the end. I had a garage wet-vac that came in handy with the concrete dust and blind cuttings. Overall A

Work done- updated 2 bathroom exhaust fans, changed the light switches to include a timer for the fans & updated 3 bathroom faucets and 1 kitchen faucet. The technician arrived on time, we chatted on the work to be done, and not wanting to waste time he started right away. When a job was completed he started to clean up but I jumped in so he could start the next job. Overall I was very happy with the services and would hire again. Pricing- a little pricey for hourly services but I had pre-bought 2 hours at a discounted rate to help out. Overall A

We wanted to remove this unuseable sliding door and replace it by a wall and a window and also fill the landscape area in the swimming pool enclosure. Michael has assessed very accurately what I wanted to do, gave me a very detailed quote in a matter of two days and, after been asked to perform the work, they gave me an appointment for the next week. Work was performed on time, within delays and slightly below price as the cost of materials was a little bit lower that he had expected. The craftsman was experienced and did a good shop on all projects. I paid extra for him to return and do extra stuff. My only complaint which I have encountered before, is the promotion for two hours or four hours is not really accurate . You would think that if the job was finished in less than the two hours that extra time could be used for other things but that's not the case. In other words you can't count on the craftsman being around for that full two hours. If he finishes with time remaining you can't ask him to do other things in the time remaining. Overall A

We had the handyman install a faucet in our secondary bathroom. We purchased the faucet in advance and had it waiitng for him to install. He did a meticulous job and didn't leave a mess. He even asked for a shop towel to absorb in water that leaked out. Since we purchased a deal for two hours of work, he let us know that the faucet would only take an hour and did we have anything else we needed him to do. We had him spray paint the aluminum frame on our screened porch. The paint was peeling and chipping. He scraped all of that paint off and repainted the frame. He took extra steps to make sure the paint did not go anywhere it wasn't supposed to go. Member Comments:

I had several jobs to be done. The largest was a wooden window seat that had wood-rot. The seat needed to be replaced along with dry-wall repaired from the same leak. Also, new decorative shutters painted and mounted on exterior cement block wall. Two interior door knobs and a hook rack needed to be installed. Altogether this did require two visits. The first fellow was able to do all other jobs (paint and hang new decorative shutters outside in cement block, install new interior doorknobs and hook rack). However, he was not a carpenter. He felt that doing the larger job of the window seat would take him longer than it would the carpenter who also works for this company. We arranged another day for the carpenter to come. He did that more complicated job quickly (4 hours), neatly and professionally. While it was somewhat inconvenient to have to have work spread over two days (I had told them in the original call that it was a carpentry job), it was better to have the right person do the job. They were neat, easy to work with, responsible and professional. They were punctual and I felt the cost was fair. I would definitely use them again but perhaps be more specific about the type of craftsman I need the first time around. Member Comments: Altogether this did require two visits. Removed old grout around tub, sink and toilet and recaulked; installed door floor sweep; replaced threshold rubber; installed end cap molding on floor and repaired outside faucet. Member Comments: I used an Angie's List Big Deal, $59 for two hours of Handyman services. Melvin called and asked if he could come earlier than our appointment time, which was fine with me. I gave him a list of items to be done and asked for an estimate. The estimate was much higher than I was expecting, but it was quite a long list. So I asked Melvin which items on the list he could complete within the two hour time period I had already prepaid. He gave me an estimate of what he could do in two hours time, so we agreed to limit the work to just those tasks. Melvin was efficient and I was satisfied with the work he provided. It was a good value for the money. I would use My Handy Craftsman again in the future, with or without a Big Deal, though the Big Deal was certainly a nice bonus.

Work was performed in a professional manner and was completed. I needed to install 2 sheets of drywall on garage ceiling and popcorn the finished board. Also, needed 2 ceiling cracks patch and pop corned, and molding installed around the attic pulldown door in garage. There was a small scheduling conflict and the worker didn't show the first day and when I called the owner he was very sorry about the mixup and the worker was there early the next morning. Also had a communication issue with the coupons. Initially I purchased 2, for 2 hours of labor each. I knew I would have to pay for the materials. When the job was done I could only use 1 and again when I called the owner and he stated that the coupons could not be used together only 1 at a time. So I had to pay for labor on the second 2 hours. On the positive end the job was well done and I was also able to refund the 2nd coupon for a refund which softened the blow a lttle. Overall happy with the work and a little disappointed with the communication end of the deal. Coupon usage restrictions should have been more upfront in the wording and had to loose a couple of mornings works hours for the scheduling mistake. Overall B

Sorry to respond this late, but its better late than never. I called two companies before Mr. Handy Craftsman, one came thought he was going to perform the job, instead he came over to analyzed and did not have a clue what he wanted to do. Anyways, I must say thanks guys you did an excellent job, you guys knew what you were doing , the plumbing the other company wanted me to replaced my six (6) month old kitchen faucet, drill through my new granite counter top, and a lot more. I do not remember the name of the workman but folks this guy is very knowledgable and knew what he was doing. I did not have to replace anything , just $93.29 of parts which is included in my total above. The trimming of my counter top was well done, and the patching of the drywall was superb!!. He installed two ceiling fans, a chandelier, removed and installed a kitchen faucet, realigned the front door, and recaulked master bathroom shower. Member Comments:
There was were many odd jobs that needed to be done around my mother's house and he was excellent in getting them done. He was there a little late but he did call and let us know and was very professional. He even helped us get the right tools and equipment we needed for the home. And with us all being women with no idea about tools and necessary items it was a big help. In the six hours he was at my mom's house he put in three ceiling fans with lights, recaulked my mom's shower, removed and installed a new kitchen faucet re-aligned the front door, and fixed my mom's garage for free. He also put up with a numerous amount of questions. He was excellent. We have already used him again and everytime he is great. He is a little more expensive then others but he does such a great job and is so professional it is worth it. Highy reccommend him.show Overall A

It was an excellent experience. I spoke with Jeff, the owner, and we set up a time for one of his handyman to come out to my home.He asked what services I needed to perform in advance. He told me that my handyman would show up at 8:30 on the day I chose.Marc Lawn, my handyman, showed up promptly at 8:30. He was extremely professional. We went over the services I would berequiring and he told me the time it would take for him to complete the services. He estimated the time to be approximately 4 hours and he finished with 10 minutes to spare. He asked if there was anything else I needed taken care of since we had some time left. However, he had accomplished everything that I had on my list. I was charged the exact amount of the estimate. I couldn't have been more pleased with my services and experience with My Handy Craftsman. I would highly recommend their services to anyone looking fora handy man service. I called them to inquire if they could reseat a toilet with a new wax seal as we could smell gas coming from the bottom of the toilet. Person who answered the phone was very courteous and assured me that they could handle the job. The person who actually fixed the toilet was very professional and cleaned up when he was done. The opening to our pantry had corners to work around like a hall closet. We want to install sliding pantry drawers but the corners were in the way. So Chris opened up the front of the pantry for us by removing the parts of the wall that were in the way. Member Comments:
Chris removed the door and cut the corners off the front of it. He then replaced necessary 2x4s to reinforce the opening. Finally, he plastered the new opening. The kitchen was left as clean as if was when he entered. He even used a wet sponge to make sure no fine particles were being left behind. I will repaint the surface tomorrow because the plaster needed a day to completely dry. Chris would have been willing to return to paint it but I can do that myself. I discovered that I wasn't capable to plaster the walls near the pantry so I called Chris back. Chris returned to match the plaster on the wall surrounding the pantry. He was still very efficient and professional. I will definitely use him for future handyman issues. Overall A

My Handy Craftsman, Chris, arrived about 45 minutes earlier than the previouslydesignated appointment time, which pleased me. He was aware of my Angie's Big Deal Coupon. He reviewed the situation with the toilet innards and agreed that everything in tank mechanism, including the bolts that held the tank to the toilet bowl were in need of replacement. I had previously purchased all the necessary parts. However, removing the old rusted bolts and other parts was not a simple task. Chris completed the job within two hours. His work was neat and the toilet functions perfectly. Additionally, he checked soffit vents andclimbed up on the roof andchecked the exterior roof for possible attic entry spots for vermin, but could not identify any obvious openings. He also assessed the problem with the door between the garage and kitchen. He will get back to me with his suggestions for solution andestimates for the door problem.I was very satisfied with the job on the toilet tank and would have no reservations about using this handyman again. Chris was due to arrive between noon and 1 P.M. I got a call from him around 12:30 asking if it was okay for him to arrive a little early since he had finished a prior job and was on his way. I was delighted to not only have a punctual handyman but to have one get here so we could get an early start on the jobs! Chris wanted to walk through the jobs first to see where I wanted the curtain rods hung. He then carefully measured- asking me questions since he wanted me happy with the results. The three rods and curtains were hung just as I would have done them myself were I able to do that job! Chris was pleasant and efficient working throughout the entire experience. He answered questions I had about future projects I have in mind. It was a great Big Deal- glad I purchased it! Overall A

Member Comments:
We had a laundry list of minor items to be installed/repaired in our 7 bedroom home. I called Jeff at My Handy Craftsman explaining that we had a punch list of items requiring his services. Because the list was long, I emailed it including the specific room each was applicable to. Jeff assigned Mark Lawn the job. Mark came out, assessed all as well as extra items not included on the list, and provided a quote before any work commenced. Mark worked through his lunch to ensure all tasks were completed that day. He was focused and thorough --- asked questions and made recommendations (better solutions) to ensure we would be satisfied. The one task he was not qualified to perform was removed from his list; however, he did indicate that another service person at My Handy Craftsman could perform the task. A second task he could not perform was due to a wrong size component we purchased. Because of the overall great experience - phone conversation with Jeff and Mark's work - we will request they accomplish a few new tasks plus the TV mount. My Handy Craftsman were fabulous! No question we will continue to utilize the company. Overall A

Replace French doors between the Master Bedroom and the pool deck. Member Comments:
I initially purchased the Angies Big Deal for 2 hours of general carpentry work. I intended to have the french doors adjusted and repaired. When they came to do the work, Michael showed me the extent of the water damage the doors had suffered and how the doors had been warped by the water. It was much more serious and damaged than we had expected. I asked for a quote for replacement and received the estimate within 24 hours. We agreed on a price and a schedule and waited for the doors to be manufactured. They came and installed the door, painted, caulked, and generally took care of the water issues with some new gutters above the doors. We were completely satisfied with the work and I would certainly have them do more work and recommend them to others. Overall A

Fixed leaky tub faucet (replaced cartridge). Repaired pool screening. Repaired parts in a toilet. Repaired shaky foot-board by making it sturdier. Member Comments:
I was very pleased with My Handy Craftsman and would hire him again in a heartbeat. He was able to come out on fairly short notice (I called on a Monday afternoon and he was able to come out on Thursday morning). He arrived exactly on time and went right to work on a list of items. I primarily needed help with fixing a leaky tub faucet (it needed a new cartridge and I couldn't get the old one out) and a bed foot-board that I was having difficulty properly securing to the rails. Since there was a 2-hour minimum and I had a number of tasks around the house that needed completing, I added them to his list and got them done in a fraction of the time it would've taken me to finish them. I did discover the next day that there was a discount coupon available that I had not taken advantage of, which normally would have irritated me (both that I had missed it and that he didn't offer it), but he was so professional, so helpful, so pleasant, and so quick, that I'm just not (irritated, that is).
